First Project
Compass

In this first project we learned the basics of Photoshop. How to insert a picture on top of another, pretty much just copy and paste. A tool called the magic eraser was introduced. The compass that had been placed on top of the school had a white background in it. The magic eraser made it possible to take away that background. We learned how to turn down opacity and an effect to the compass.
ONW
The next step was to add the text. Again, we turned down the opacity. It was challenging to get everything, even the compass, right where you wanted it, and the size you wanted it.
Second Project
Butterfly
In this project we worked with a butterfly. I learned how to take the original color out and replace it with a different color. The tool, magic wand, was able to outline a certain area and change the hue, or the color, in the butterfly. Another tool I learned about was the clone stamp. The clone stamp takes an area you click on a copy it to another place in your project. It was really hard when using this tool because I would clone around the outside of the butterfly and it would begin to copy the white area around it. It took multiple tries to get it right, but i finally did it! Another challenge was picking the right colors to use on the wings.
Third Project
In this project we looked at how to add a text mask. It was pretty easy. There is a tool in Photoshop that masks the text for you. The challenging part was adding the blue and black on top of the picture. We just went to the color schemes Photoshop gives you and rearranged them to match our school colors.
Fourth Project
School

When I heard of Photoshop all those years ago, sixth or fifth grade, I thought of it as a way to hide an object you don't want to be seen in the picture. During these projects, I learn that Photoshop wasn't that, it was so much more. The thing is, we did erase thing from the project! In the beginning there were three cars, two light poles, and one post, and now there is not. What? There is a tool called the lasso tool. You are able to outline a area or object and it fills that area with something that matches the surrounding area.
Raven
The picture I used to get the raven is from my schools gym. A tool, the magnet lasso, is able to trace around the outside the shape with your help. This was challenging because there were sometime when it didn't go the way you wanted it to.
Other Images
The four other images I uses are also from my school. For them, I turned the opacity down and blurred the edges. This project combined everything I had learned and more. It was diffidently the most difficult project we have done.
