Snapchat Geofilters

As a personal project in my graphic design class, I choose to make a Snapchat geofilter. I sent in two different filters for the city of Olathe, Kansas.

For the one to the left, I spent around 25 minutes making. The other one (right) was a much longer process. This one didn't look like that when I first started making it. But I love the turn out.

At first, I had no idea where to start or what my filters should look like. Of course, I went to google. I like up filters from all over the world. I took screen shots and used them as my inspiration. I also asked friends what they thought should be in an Olathe geofilter. Most of them said sunflowers, a Kansas symbol.

I remember there was one with a whale on the bottom. I thought I would be able to take that idea and use it for my school, but it didn't work out as well as I wanted it to. So, I moved on to Olathe.

They took different times to get approved. The one on the right was turned down with in two weeks. I was very upset about this because it was my favorite. With the email they sent me, the company gave me reasons why they didn't except it. I looked thought the information and submitted it again. It came back declined again. :( The one on the left was about 4 week and now I see it on my friends stories. Its weird... some of them know I made it but not all.
